There are a number of factors that may cause your reported book count or a number of books in searches of your inventory to vary somewhat from the number of books you have in your own database or on another site.
Most commonly, you will see minor fluctuations following an upload, a purge and replace, or a change of account status (e.g., returning from vacation). This is because BIBLIO utilizes multiple servers across multiple data centers to handle our high search volumes. Updates are constantly rippling through these servers throughout the day. As a result, you will see these minor fluctuations reflected from one moment to the next - sometimes even on the exact same search.
If you're seeing these fluctuations, try checking back in a few hours to see if the counts or results have self-corrected.
Other less common reasons that there may be discrepancies:
- Your most recent upload did not match the settings we have on your account for uploads. This can cause odd behavior in counts and searches. It is very important that you remain consistent with the format of your upload files.
- Your upload contains items that are priced for less than $1. Our system will discard these.
- Your upload contains items which are not allowed for sale on BIBLIO (e.g., DVDs, vinyl, etc), or for which we have received requests from the copyright holder(s) to remove in accordance with the DMCA.
If you still feel that the counts or results you're seeing are in error, please don't hesitate to let us know, providing as many specific examples as you can of inventory items that are not appearing in searches as you would expect. You can always reach bookseller support directly at bookseller-support@biblio.com
