European Union VAT, shipping label requirements

Modified on Fri, 07 Oct 2022 at 12:36 PM

Biblio collects and remits EU VAT to the appropriate authorities in the EU. Applicable VAT will be paid by the customer at checkout.

To ensure that customers are not charged additional VAT when receiving their orders, be sure to complete customs forms accurately and include Biblio's IOSS number in those forms. Biblio's IOSS information is also included on the shipping label we provide, but if the IOSS number is not in the customs record then customers may have to pay VAT twice in order to receive their packages.

If you need it, here is our IOSS number:

Biblio IOSS/VAT Reg # IM5283091871

This applies only to orders with a book price of less than EUR 150 shipping to an EU country. For orders exceeding EUR 150, Biblio does not collect VAT. For orders exceeding EUR 150, our IOSS # should not be on the label.

We encourage you to use our shipping labels, but if you don't use our shipping labels, please be sure to include this information on all your packages with an intrinsic value of EUR 150 or less, shipping to the EU. Do not include this information your label for orders with an intrinsic value exceeding EUR 150.

Please note, if a customer is required to pay additional VAT because the seller has not completed customs/import/export forms correctly, or the seller does not provide additional information needed to resolve the matter, we will credit the customer for the amount needed to release the order from customs and then debit the seller that amount.
